Ruby Bellows Tintype

Notes:

- Sessions cannot be booked more than 30 days in advance through the site. If you have a date in mind not on the calendar send me an email to confirm availability and I will schedule you in manually.

- A session includes one tintype (or the number of tintypes booked) and hi-res digital scan(s) of each image.

- I'm willing to reshoot the image if there are chemical artifacts that obstruct the image or there is a chemistry issue on my part. Please keep in mind that this is a historical process with quirks and imperfections and allow some tolerance towards dust particles, soft focusing, minor flaws, fingerprints, etc. - It's what makes this method unique.

- Please keep in mind that I shoot with a lens from the 1860's and focusing is at its best if there are two people per plate. If there are more than two people, focusing gets trickier on my part and an image may start to fall out of focus due to the shorter depth of field.

- Once the session has ended, I will mail you the physical plate. Turn around time is about two weeks.

- Final note: This process captures every last detail and some people find it intimidating to view themselves in this photographic format. If you are expecting an highly edited, digitally manipulated, and/or a perfect image, this type of portraiture isn't for you. My lens captures details we normally don't see which is why tintypes are referred to as honest portraits. In all the "flaws" we humans see in ourselves, I find these types of portraits to be purely striking unlike anything else. It's a truly unique form of portraiture but keep in mind that its not for everyone.
