The Purpose of the Village of Greenville’s Cross Connection Control Program, as defined in the local Ordinance §340-26, is to help eliminate possible contamination of the public water distribution system.
This inspection will take approximately 20-30 minutes and will include a meter exchange. Residents do need to be home at the time of the inspection as the staff will need to enter the home to complete the inspection. They will need access to areas of plumbing such as sump pumps, toilets, showers, hose bibs, water softeners, mop sinks, the primary water service line, etc. Staff will be exchanging your home’s water meter during this appointment as well.
There are no fees associated with this inspection/exchange, however, all costs associated with the replacement, modification and installation remains the obligation of the property owner/manager. You will be notified following the inspection if modification(s) and/or testing of backflow prevention assemblies are necessary.
