One of our most popular sessions, the Introduction to Carrying covers what makes carrying safe and comfortable, types of carrier you might use, and what to look for as your baby grows. We cover the practicalities of being out and about with your baby in a carrier including ease of use, layering and weather protection. With the opportunity to try on a selection of carriers to find what suits you, or learn new skills like using a wrap, this session includes four weeks of carrier hire for you to take home.

The longer and more private version of our sling library service, the Recommend and Fit session is designed to sit down with you and chat about what you need your carrier to do for you. Then we select a suitable option and get it fitted well, answer any questions you have about using it with your baby, and include four weeks of carrier hire so you’ll be able to take it home with you on the day. A popular appointment type, with your own space and support and no waiting.

Families with multiples, or children close in age often have more options for carrying - this session offers support with carrying a single baby or carrying more than one depending on your needs. Adding tandem carrying, and twin-specific carriers into the mix, twin carrying support explores the practicalities and realities of getting out and about with babies on board. Includes two weeks of flexible hire at our special twin rate of half price hire for the second carrier. Additional hire time can be added.

Learning to carry your baby on your back can be daunting but very freeing when you have mastered it! Get help and support to learn how to back carry safely in your choice of carrier, with carrier hire included if you’d like it, or you can learn with your own carriers. Best suited to families with babies over six months and sitting independently, if you’d like to back carry before this age or milestone, or aren’t sure if the carrier you have allows back carrying, just get in touch.

Sometimes there are extra requirements or barriers to carrying, so our special appointments simply add an extra half hour for no additional cost, if you need it. We are experienced with working with babies of low birth weight, parents and children with a range of disabilities including sensory impairments, children with autism/SEN, wheelchair users, babies in orthopaedic positioning aids or with lines and tubes to accommodate.
