Herkimer Mountain Diamond Mine Day Digs

Welcome to Herkimer Mountain Dig Days! Starting at 9 AM, our mine manager will greet you and lead you to our dig sites. Choose from digging in dirt and gravel for beautiful crystals, hard rock mining to find amazing specimens, or simply searching the ground. We have world-class specimens, and you can keep everything you find. End of day is 4 PM. Checkout is at 5 PM. Thank you for your support, and we hope you have a wonderful and successful day!

It is highly recommended that you enter the property with an ALL-WHEEL or 4 WHEEL DRIVE vehicle. It is at your OWN RISK which ever vehicle you choose to enter with, understanding that our access is a raw dirt road and can be uneven and muddy at times. Thank you.

Prices are per person. Children 7 and under dig for FREE!

  1. Select your dig option and click/tap the "Book" button.

  2. Enter quantity (number of digs you wish to purchase).

  3. Select date by clicking/tapping on your desired date. The start time and spot availability box will appear.

  4. Click/tap the box.

  5. Choose 'Select and continue' to add booking to your cart and continue OR choose 'Select and add another time' to place booking in your cart and continue adding other dates. Add additional dates then select the 'Continue' button to proceed.

  6. Enter your contact information and agree to the Release Agreement.

  7. Check out using your credit card.



    • Adult Day Dig (Ages 16+)

      7 hours @ $100.00

      For youth and adults ages 16+. Can be booked in conjunction with Youth and Child digs.

    • Youth Day Dig (Ages 8-15)

      7 hours @ $50.00

      For children and youth ages 8-15. must be accompanied by an adult. Can be booked in combination with Adult & Child digs.

    • Child Day Dig (Ages 7 and under)

      7 hours

      FREE! For children and youth ages 7 and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Can be booked in conjunction with Adult & Youth digs.
